President Erdogan visit to Greece
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey will make a groundbreaking trip to Greece on Dec. 7-8.
Erdogan is scheduled to visit Greece on Dec. 7-8, Turkey’s deputy prime minister, Hakan Cavusoglu, announced this week. A Greek government spokesman said, however, that the visit had yet to be confirmed.
Erdoğan — upon the invitation of Greece’s President Prokopis Pavlopoulos — will embark on the two-day official visit, where bilateral relations and regional issues are expected to be discussed.
He will be the first Turkish president to visit Greece in 65 years. Celal Bayar was the last Turkish president to visit Greece, in 1952.
