Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has denied any rift in its ranks and said it has no plan to replace its dreaded chief Hakimullah Mehsud. It also rejected truce with Pakistan government.
Peshawar, Dec 10/Nationalturk -: Pakistan’s deadly militant group, Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has rejected any rift in its ranks and said it has no plan to replace its dreaded chief Hakimullah Mehsud.
“The reports about rift in Taliban are not true. We held the main Shura meeting two weeks back in North Waziristan agency and all 42 members (representatives) attended the meeting, which was chaired by TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud,” TTP spokesman Eshanullah Eshan was quoted as having said by Pakistan’s Dawn newspaper.
He said the chairing of meeting by Hakimullah Mehsud is sufficient enough to rebuff reports of any change in TTP top slot.
He claimed that Waliur Rehman, whom earlier reports had said will take command of the militant group, and all the other top leadership from Mohmand, Bajaur, Dara Adamkhel and rest of Pakistan attended the meeting and reposed confidence and faith in Hakimullah Mehsud.
Ehsan rejected the media reports that Waliur Rehman has been in touch with the administration and is planning to enter into some agreement with the Pakistan government and starting rebellion against Hakimullah Meshud.
“Until our amir is following the Shariah laws and talking decisions according to the Islamic Shariah, no one is going to defect or rise against him and the reports in this regard are merely a propaganda,” he said.
The TTP spokesman rejected any truce with Pakistan government, who according to him, was following dictates from abroad. It had also rejected peace overtures from Pakistan government in the past.
We’ll destroy US military hardware
The TTP spokesman Eshanullah Eshan claimed that they will destroy US military hardware once its withdrawal from Afghanistan.
“We are waiting for this target (transportation of military hardware back to the United States via Pakistani land route) since long. We have already planned to destroy it. There is no doubt that this stuff will not go back in one piece, the US and their Pakistani counterparts are one and the same for the TTP and would be targeted alike,” he said.
