Dunga has been dismissed as the manager of Brazil on Sunday, just two days after his team was eliminated from the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Stressful days for Dunga as he is dismissed as Brazil manager after Brazil crashed out of the World Cup 2010 in South Africa

Brazilian manager Carlos Caetano Bledorn Verri, better known as Dunga has been released from his post after the Brazilian national side crashed dramatically out of the World cup.

The CBF (Brazilian Football Federation) announced on Sunday that they were ending ties with Manager Dunga and his technical staff.

The official CBF website wrote on Sunday “Ending the cycle of work that began in August 2006, and ended with the elimination of Brazil from the World Cup in South Africa, the CBF announces that the technical committee of the national team has been released,”

“The new technical committee will be announced later this month.”

Dunga was greatly criticized for not including some key players in his World Cup squad such as Ronaldhino and Adriano and notably told critics that “good players are able to win games, but the team wins cups” to defend his decision.

Dunga who won the World Cup in 1994 in the United States as a player had already admitted that the most likely outcome after the early exit of Brazil was for him to be dismissed.

The Brazilian national side was arguably in one of the most difficult groups in the World Cup in South Africa and managed to get maximum points. But the surprise defeat by Holland crashed the five time champions out of the competition.

The Brazilian manager was brought in as the boss of the Brazilian National side in 2006 after Carlos Alberto Parreira’s Brazilian squad had exited World Cup 2006 held in Germany in the Quarter Finals.

Dunga’s Brazilian record is also an impressive one as he led the team which he managed in 68 games winning 49 of them, drawing 12 and losing just seven. In his four year career as Brazil manager, Dunga managed to win the Copa America in 2007 and Confederations Cup in 2009.

There is also a rumor that five manager have already been shortlisted as the next Brazilian boss which is headed by Luiz Felipe Scolari who has already won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002.

According to sources close to the CBF, they want an experienced manager in International football who can lead them to a 6th World Cup victory as the next World Cup will be held in Brazil.

Amongst Scolari; Corinthians manager Mano Menezes, Sao Paulo boss Ricardo Gomes, AC Milan boss and former World Cup winner Leonardo and Muricy Ramalho who coaches Fluminense are all rumored to be in talks with the CBF.
