U.S. President Barack Obama today made a surprise visit to Afghanistan, coinciding with the first anniversary of the death of al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in neighboring Pakistan.
Kabul, Afghanistan / NationalTurk – US president Barack Obama arrived in the evening at the local air base in Bagram, Kabul, and its activities include the signing of a ‘strategic partnership agreement’ with his Afghan counterpart Hamid Karzai.
Also, from Bagram ruling in the afternoon in Washington a televised speech to U.S. citizens, according to reporters accompanying the president.
Although these had been summoned on Monday night at Andrews Air Force Base, outside Washington, the White House forced to keep the information embargoed until Obama reached his destination it this Tuesday.
