No more closed doors in Turkish stadiums, women and children will be the fans
Turkey’s match fixing scandal pratagonists Fenerbahce Istanbul are seeking to continue their winning streak in Turkish Football League at tonight’s game against Manisaspor in front of a crowd of only female and young fans.
Turkish Football Federation changed its decision on banned teams to play their games behind closed doors. Now there can be fans in the stadium but the ban is only for male attendants, only female fans and children under 12 can enter the stadium to watch the match free of charge following an ID check. More than 25000 fans, consisting of women and children are expected to be in the stadium to support Fenerbahce, who won the firts two matches of the new season and plan to win the third one too.

Fenerbahce Istanbul witness the newest decision for the first time. The club and fan groups invited women to Şükrü Saraçoğlu Stadium. The İstanbul team struggled the past in the though aftermath in the Turkey’s biggest match fixing scandal: First their chairman, Aziz Yildirim was imprisoned for suspected match-rigging activities, and then the team was kicked out of the Champions League by the TFF on orders from UEFA.
