‘Modern Warfare 3’ makes $1.355 M. in one week
The latest video game of the renown ‘Call of Duty’ video game franchise, Modern Warfare 3 broke a record in sales on the seventh day of its release.
New York / NationalTurk – Distributor Activision announced that ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’ made $1.355 million in one week following its release. It also went down in history as the game with the highest number of copies sold. In New York people waited in long lines to get a copy of the game that had lasted for two days. Smarter people have waited and got Modern Warfare 3 in human ways.
Previously released ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops’ had made $650 million in its first five days while ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’ had made $550 million.
Fierce Combat in sales charts : Modern Warfare 3 weapons battle with Skyrim
The scenario in ‘Modern Warfare 3’ picks up the story where the previous installation left off, putting the player in the boots of a soldier fighting off Russian forces who invaded Europe and the United States.
Although Modern Warfare 3 rules the PS3 and Xbox 360 sales charts, it runs into strong resistance from this week’s UK PC sales No.1 Skyrim and runner up Football Manager 2012.
The latest Call of Duty settles for No.3, followed by The Sims 3: Pets, Battlefield 3 and new entry Saints Row: The Third at No.6.
The Sims 3 and The Sims 3: Generations occupy take the next two spots, while new entries: Need for Speed: The Run and Anno 2070 round off the top ten.
