Russia is celebrating the most important holiday of the year – the 69th anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany. Amidst the Ukraine crisis took President Putin a military parade as a demonstration of their own strength.

The Russian capital witnessed a military parade of superlatives: 11,000 soldiers , 151 units of heavy military equipment and 69 combat aircraft and helicopters took part in the weapons shop .

President Vladimir Putin took over as commander of the army from the parade on the Red Square in Moscow, with Russia celebrates the anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany .

The Kremlin leader took the midst of the heavy – Ukraine crisis the parade as a demonstration of their own military strength .

The army presented among other tanks of type T -90A and the missile systems Iskander -M, Topol -M and S-400 Triumph . On the air parade attended by combat helicopters of the type Ka -51 Alligator , MiG- 29 fighter jets and the strategic supersonic bomber Tu -160 part .

“I welcome the winning people – hurray ,” Putin called for the end of a short speech . The soldiers responded with a triple hurray . The President wore on his lapel , the black-orange St. George’s band , bravery badge of the tsarist army and symbol of the veterans of the Second World War.

Putin did not go in his speech to the current crisis in Ukraine, he held rather a historical review, spoke of “Russia’s glorious history.” The Head of State praised the fallen soldiers and veterans present. “We will ensure that the heroes are not forgotten.”

“The 9th of May was, is and remains our most important holiday,” Putin said. His speech was broadcast live on state television. “This is a holiday on which triumphs over all victorious patriotic force, in which we all feel very strongly what it means to be faithful to the mother country, and how important it is to stand up for our interests,” said the head of state. The President promised the veterans an eternal keepsake. “We are proud of you.”

The head of state is after the annexation of the Black Sea peninsula in a high poll, 70 percent support the policies of Putin. There is speculation that he flies to the big parade in Moscow to Sevastopol in the Crimea, to take part in a ceremonial parade on the anniversary. So far, the Kremlin has neither denied nor confirmed this.
