Michael Jackson’s son Prince poses on the red carpet

Prince Jackson doesn't often appear in public. But he has now come to the Tony Awards together with his sister. The two stood on stage in honor of their late father Michael Jackson.

Paris and Prince Jackson are rarely seen on public dates. They made an exception for their father Michael Jackson, who died in 2009. The siblings attended the 75th Tony Awards in New York City on Sunday night.

Brother and sister in elegant look

The duo dressed up for their performance. The 25-year-old wore an all-black suit, his long dark hair was tied back and fell openly down his back. His sister, who is one year younger, opted for a floor-length dress in a light pink for the occasion.

At the event, they jointly announced a number from the new musical “MJ the Musical.” The play chronicles the career of the late King of Pop and garnered ten nominations at this year’s Tony Awards – America’s top honor for plays and musicals. In the end, the show was able to look forward to four prizes. Among others, the main actor Myles Frost was awarded.

Michael Jackson “loved musicals”

“A lot of people seem to think that our father Michael Jackson changed pop music forever. And who are we to disagree?” Prince Jackson joked on stage. “But what people might not know, he loved musicals, film and stage,” he added.

It is therefore a great honor for him and his sister to present the musical, which “through its numerous iconic hits illuminates the complexity and brilliance of our father in his creative process”.

Paris Jackson then announced the segment from “MJ the Musical”. “This number sheds light on this creative process and shows how, step by step, one of his most popular hits develops from a dance rehearsal”. Myles Frost and his colleagues then took the stage and performed “Smooth Criminal” from Jackson’s 1987 album Bad.

Michael Jackson was the father of three children. Prince was his eldest son and is from his marriage to Debbie Rowe. Paris is the second child of the musician and the 63-year-old. Prince Michael II, who calls himself Bigi, is the third offspring. He is said to have been born in 2002 with the help of a surrogate mother.
