Mel Gibson to star at hit Turkish series Magnificent Century

Mel Gibson, the Hollywood ace actor and director will play in the upcoming season at a popular Turkish Tv series ‘ Muhteşem Yüzyıl’ (Magnificent Century), which is based on the life of longest reigning Ottoman Sultan Süleyman I ( Suleiman the Magnificent).

Istanbul / NationalTurk – Turkish Historical Drama Magnificent Century ( Muhteşem Yüzyıl ) is playing big stakes as the producers of one of the most successful Turkish Tv shows want to add Hollywood ace Mel Gibson to its cast.

Earlier producers of the show contacted Hollywood mega-star Brad Pitt to cast him for one episode of Magnificent Century. Turkish Tv columnist  Yüksel Aytuğ wrote today that the Turkish production company TIMS is trying to get an agreement with Hollywood’s  popular male actors. Brad Pitt is still the # 1 candidate, if he won’t be available then Mel Gibson will be starring in the series.

According to sources, Brad Pitt or Mel Gibson will be playing a Mongolian Khan at  ‘Magnificent Century’  where he is going to be seen in battle scenes.

Mel Gibson is quite an interesting figure at Hollywood. His successful career as artist and director ( Lethal Weapon, Braveheart, Passion of Christ, Apocalypto ) is on a slight decline, however  outside his career, remarks by Gibson have generated accusations of homophobia, antisemitism, racism, and misogyny; Mel Gibson has previously attributed the statements to his battle with alcoholism.
