Spanish football club Real Madrid have won the 36th Santiago Bernabeu Trophy as they defeated Turkish heavyweights Galatasaray 2-1 in Madrid Tuesday night.

In the 17th minute, Nacho headed the ball into the net to give Real Madrid the lead, 1-0. In 53’, Galatasaray’s Dutch star Wesley Sneijder scored the equalizer to make it 1-1.

Real Madrid’s Brazilian left-back Marcelo scored with nine minutes left to seal the victory.

Dedicated to the memory of Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid’s president for 35 years from 1943 to 1978, Santiago Bernabeu Trophy is a friendly tournament held by Real Madrid each year during the pre-season period (Anadolu Agency).
