Patriot missile systems sent by Germany and installed on the premises of Gazi Military Post situated in Turkey’s southern province of Kahramanmaraş on Thursday are ready to be activated.

Patriot systems delivered by the Danish-flagged Suecia Seaways ship had arrived at the port of İskenderun located in the southern province of Hatay on Monday.

NATO agreed in December to station two units from each of the three NATO partners (Germany, the Netherlands, and the US) at the request of its member Turkey, after Syrian shelling along the border killed five Turkish civilians in October.

NATO approved the Patriot batteries deployment last month, after a request filed by Turkey.
