Manchester United almost to finish the transfer of the year, Gareth Bale will come to Old Trafford in June David Moyes wants 2014 champions league title.
A marquee signing would be the absolute ideal scenario, however. Although Ferguson has stressed the importance of giving the new man time, a backlash is inevitable if the team start slowly under David Moyes. Capturing Gareth Bale or bringing Ronaldo back to Manchester would reassure the fans that money is available and the club has lost none of its lustre without Ferguson at the helm.
The Premier League’s player of the year, Gareth Bale, is another possibility. With Ryan Giggs unlikely to continue beyond the end of next season, it might be a comfort to the United faithful to land the Welsh winger who considers Giggs an idol. Much will depend on whether Tottenham can qualify for the Champions League and, if not, whether Bale is the type of player who would consider moving abroad.
After Spurs again failed to make the top four, if the Welshman has the desire to leave the club but not the country, United and City are the only real candidates for his signature. The Reds would be unlikely to match the wages on offer at City, but sometimes money isn’t everything. Robin van Persie is proof of that.
One can only hope Moyes manages to bring in a player on a par with Van Persie. And that it works out as well as that particular transfer.
Manchester United this summer and has been singing the praises of United target Gareth Bale. The 23-year-old Spurs forward has been linked with United but is said to be on the wanted list of David Moyes.
Sir Alex Ferguson was linked with a move for Gareth Bale and speculation still links his successor David Moyes with a possible bid although the smart money suggests Bale will see his pay at Spurs increased to £130,000 a week (the equivalent of $10.2million a year) with the option of an exit from White Hart Lane next summer should Tottenham receive a bid in excess of £50million ($75.6million).
