Galatasaray striker Burak Yilmaz has set as a new target of Manchester United transfer, United ready to provide for the transfer of 25m €.
The 27-year-old striker Burak Yilmaz has been one of the most brilliant performers in this edition of Champions League and is currently the joint top-scorer with Christiano Ronaldo, having score eight goals in eight appearances in the competition. His goal scoring feat not only won him the ‘best player’ award during the group stages, but also ensured Galatasaray’s qualification through to the Quarter-final stage of the competition, where they will now face Real Madrid.
Burak Yilmaz’s performances have drawn interest from other top European clubs and according to latest report, he is now a transfer target for English Premier League giants Manchester United. Although reports suggest that a bid of £10 million will be enough to lure away Yilmaz from the Turkish club, in truth Galatasaray are one of the most financially stable club in Europe and it would it take much more than amount for them to sell Yilmaz, who still has nearly four years left in his current contract.
It is also hard to see where Burak Yilmaz will fit into the present Manchester United squad. Sir Alex Ferguson already has three forwards in his squad, and unless he is planning to sell one of them in the summer, it is hard to argue the place for a fifth forward. United incidentally have also been linked with Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski, but the Polish striker is believed to be on his way to German giants Bayern Munich and Yilmaz might be an alternative option for the 24-year-old striker.
Galatasaray manager, Fatih Terim, has accepted that it would be hard for the Turkish club to hold onto Yilmaz after the form he has shown in the Champions League, and the 59-year-old is only hoping that the Turkish international can take the right decision and contribute the club’s future success.
Manchester United Transfer:Burak Yilmaz a footballer play 4 Turkish giant clubs
Burak Yilmaz has been a late riser. For a kid who had so much talent and was one of the most highly rated youngsters, back when he played for Antalyaspor and Besiktas, he has had to wait for 2-3 more years than expected to realise his potential. Interestingly, Yilmaz started out in his career as a midfielder at Antalyaspor, who scored goals occasionally, and then played as a right winger during his Besiktas days, it is only at Trabzonspor did he play as an out and out striker, which initiated his wonderful goal scoring form.
The 27-year-old has scored 81 goals in his last 110 appearances for Trabzonspor and Galatasaray. Fatih Terim has even compared him with Ukrainian legend Andriy Shevchenko, who he managed during his Milan days, and has stated that Yilmaz will only get better with age.
This season Burak Yilmaz became the only player in Turkish history to play in a champions league match for the four most successful club in Turkey – Fernerbahce, Besiktas, Trabzonspor and Galatasaray. In fact he is only the second player in the history of the game to play for all these four clubs. Even with the arrival of big names like Drogba and Sneijder, the spot light has been firmly placed on this 27-year-old and Manchester United, along with a lot of other European clubs will be monitoring his exploits against Real Madrid in the first leg of their quarter-final fixture.
