New US Ambassador to Sri Lanka and the Maldives announced by Us President Barack Obama. Foreign service diplomat Michele Sison will be the next Us ambassador to Maldives.
Washington / NationalTurk – Michele Sison is currently Assistant Chief of Mission for Law Enforcement and Rule of Law Assistance in Baghdad. She had been career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister-Counselor.
Newly appointed US ambassador to Maldives had earlier served as the Consul General at the American Consulate in the US.

Barack Obama stated during the nomination ceremony ‘ Our nation will be greatly served by the talent and expertise these individuals bring to their new roles ‘
He continued to praise the new Us ambassador to Maldives : ‘ I am grateful they have agreed to serve in this Administration, and I look forward to working with them in the months and years ahead,’ Barack Obama stated as he declared nomination of Maldives ambassador Sison, and also Brett McGurk as new Ambassador to the Republic of Iraq.
Michele Sison starts to serve as the US Ambassador to Maldives, which is the smallest Asian country in both population and land area. With an average ground level of 1.5 metres (4 ft 11 in) above sea level, it is the planet’s lowest country. The Maldivian economy is to a large degree based on tourism.
