The 47-year-old Malaysian man who reportedly owns a rubber plantation farm had gotten angry after he returned home early on Wednesday morning and woke his wife up and asked for sex.
The woman in her mid to late 30’s had been angered by her husbands gambling which he had come from and also had health problems which is why she refused sex.
The incident which occurred in Kuantan, West Malaysia, shocked locals.
The man who had gotten angry by her wife’s refusal got hold of a bottle of formic acid which he had gotten from outside and splashed it on the woman’s face and body.
The couples teenage children who woke to their mothers screaming asked help from their aunt who rushed the woman to a local hospital.
Her condition is said to be stable but has severe injuries to her face and body.
The Malaysian government is being prompted by locals for more severe consequences on such attacks as there as been several acid attacks in recent year in the country including a politicians wife in early February.
