The Tourism Minister of Indian administered Kashmir has asked Western and other countries to lift travel advisories and allow their citizens to visit the region.
Srinagar, May 14/Nationalturk- Terming Indian Kashmir as safe as any other part of the world, the Tourism Minister of Indian administered Kashmir has asked Western and other countries to lift travel advisories and allow their citizens to visit the region.
“Indian Kashmir is as safe as other parts of the world. The foreign countries should allow their citizens to visit the region and enjoy natural beauty bestowed on the region,” Tourism Minister of Indian administered Kashmir Ghulam Ahmad Mir said while interacting with a group of Canadian tourists, who were on a weeklong trip of the region.
He asked the Western and other nations to lift travel advisories barring their citizens from visiting the region.
He said Kashmir known as ‘paradise on earth’ is best suited for tourists to enjoy their holidays. “Kashmir is all season destination spot owing to its varied topography and abundant natural beauty with lush green spots and rich environs. We have created several tourist attractions with focus on highlighting adventure, golf, health and conventional tourism besides leisure and developed virgin tourism spots”.

“We offer a beautiful blend of natural beauty and hospitality. Kashmir has lots of adventure activities in winter. Gulmarg, which is one of the key destinations, offers Skiing, Heli-skiing, Gondola and many more. Similarly for spring, we are blessed with flowers and one of the major attractions is the Tulip garden in Srinagar, summer capital of Kashmir. For those who want to beat the heat, Kashmir can offer more than required in summers. Whether it is the serene locations like Pahalgam, Sonamarg, or heavenly resorts like Dodpathri, Naranaag, Gangabal treks, or beautiful Mughal gardens and picturesque Golf resorts like Royal Springs Golf course Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam Golf courses. Kashmir is a one grand tourism destination, Mir elaborated,” the minister said.
Maintaining that Kashmir was the centre of spiritual learning, he said, “It has been blend of different cultures of Buddhism, Sufism or Shaivism. In arts and crafts, nature has blessed us in this sphere uniquely and our craftsmen have shown their talent and intellect wonderfully over centuries now”.
The record number of Indian and foreign tourists visited Indian Kashmir last year. The government is hopeful that more tourists would visit the region this year owing to prevailing of ‘peace” in the region.
