Kurdish militans attacks in rural western Turkey, one Turkish soldier killed
One Turkish soldier has been killed and four others were wounded in an ambush Kurdish militants near the western province of Izmir this morning.
PKK has fired on Turkish soldiers after a landmine planted on the road leading toward the Turkish Amphibious Forces Command in western part of Turkey was detonated via remote control while a military vehicle passed by today in the morning.
According to initial reports, one soldier has been killed in the clash after Turkish soldiers fired back on PKK members. Four other wounded soldiers were taken to Foça State Hospital.
PKK terrorists has been fighting an armed struggle against the Turkish state for an autonomous Kurdistan and greater cultural and political rights for the Kurds in Turkey. PKK is listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the United States and the European Union.
