Judith Rakers’ cat bitten dead by ‘neighbor’s dog’
She would have preferred to have been spared this Easter surprise. At the weekend, “Tagesschau” spokeswoman Judith Rakers had to cope with the loss of her hangover. He was apparently killed by a dog.
Judith Rakers will have bad memories of this Easter. Because the 46-year-old has been mourning her cat Juri since Saturday. She has now announced this on Instagram in an emotional post. The story that the “Tagesschau” spokeswoman tells there could hardly be more dramatic.
“Juri would have been one year old today,” she writes about the post to her around 240,000 followers. The fans see a series of pictures. A tan and black striped cat hiding under a blanket being petted by Rakers, purring and snuggled on her lap. In total there are four pictures and a short video that Rakers shares in her post. It goes on to say: “Yesterday the new neighbor’s dog bit him dead.”
Judith Rakers is ‘endlessly sad’
The newsreader explains how this could happen and writes: “Juri walked onto his property because he used to be welcome there. He couldn’t have known that the new dog would kill cats when he saw them.”
The owners were also shocked by the incident: they reacted “sincerely concerned and dismayed”, according to Rakers. But for the famous presenter from Hamburg, the loss is even worse. After all, Judith Rakers is all about her life on the small, personal farm in the north of the Hanseatic city. She is “infinitely sad” because of Juri’s death, she provides an insight into her state of mind and adds: “He will be missing on the small farm.”
Rakers lives alone after separating from her ex-husband Andreas Pfaff. The woman from the “Tagesschau” has no children. But all the more animals: In addition to his own horse, Rakers also surrounds himself with chickens – and cats. In the future, however, there will be fewer of them tinkering about their farm.
