It’s imperative that I share my perspective. No not only for myself, but also in the hope that these will reach the hearts, minds and laws of Tennessee and beyond.”

Then the singer, who is often compared to Robert Plant, gets personal: “Because I’ve been in a loving, same-sex relationship with my partner for eight years.” Those around him have known this for a long time, but “it’s important to me to make this public,” Kiszka continued.

Under his post, Kiszka links to some Instagram profiles that advocate for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. “A lot of love has been bestowed on the LGBTQ+ community over the years, but we still have a lot of work to do. Here in Tennessee, in the country and in the world.”

For his open words, the rocker gets a lot of encouragement from his fans. Rob Halford, singer of heavy metal legend Judas Priest, is also gay and congratulates his fellow musician on his coming out: “I love you, Josh!” Another user wrote: “I can’t put into words how proud I am of you Josh. For years people have tried to insult you as gay and you have not let your happiness take you.”

The greatest gift to earthlings is our ability to love. And as we travel through time, may our greater understanding of the matter around and within us teach us to love even more deeply.”
