Terry has been slammed by the English press and Martin O’Neill over his horror tackle on England team mate James Milner who was very lucky not to have a serious injury after the challenge.
[media id=170 width=610 height=340]Aston Villa were trailing 1-0 at the FA Cup Semi Final played on Sunday at the time of the challenge and Villa were on a counter attack when John Terry lunged at the ball but got most of Milner’s standing left leg.
To be fair to Terry he did get a fraction of the ball but the England International is well known for his dangerous challenges and what mad the incident worse is the fact that it was on an England team mate.
Aston Villa’s manager Martin O’Neill was very angry with Terry and the Referee when he said James Milner was “It was a horrendous tackle for an England team-mate to make, James is very sore, and very lucky. He has got away with it because he had his leg in the air at the time. He is exceptionally lucky his career is intact.”
O’Neill was also very upset with the referee for not sending of John Terry after the tackle.
Another reason why England fans were angered was due to Terry’s protests to the referee after the tackle when he received a yellow card. most football fans believe it should have been a straight Red.
The cameras showed Fabio Capello right after the challenge who was at the game watching the England players.
Terry had been in the press lately over his cheating antics with Wayne Bridge’s ex-girlfriend.
