Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson are getting divorced

Another Hollywood marriage has broken down. On Monday it was announced that British actress Jodie Turner-Smith has filed for divorce from her husband and colleague, Canadian series and film star Joshua Jackson.

In the court documents, which several US media outlets such as “TMZ” and “Page Six” consistently cite, “irreconcilable differences” are given as the reason. The separation date is dated September 13th.

This news comes as a surprise to fans of the former couple, as just a few days earlier Jodie Turner-Smith had uploaded a picture with Joshua Jackson on Instagram. The snapshot, which is still online, shows the two arm in arm and smiling at an event.

The 37-year-old is represented by the renowned celebrity lawyer Laura Wasser, who has already assisted stars such as Johnny Depp, Angelina Jolie, Heidi Klum, Ashton Kutcher, Kim Kardashian, Ryan Reynolds and Jennifer Garner in their divorces.

However, the former couple’s separation does not seem to result in a war of the roses. According to court documents, Jodie Turner-Smith asked for shared custody of their three-year-old daughter. Although there is no marriage contract, the plan is to waive mutual maintenance claims.

Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson will no longer be celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary in a few weeks. They tied the knot in December 2019 after around a year of dating. Daughter Juno was born a few months later. Until 2016, the actor famous from the series “Dawson’s Creek” had been in a relationship with German Hollywood star Diane Kruger for ten years.
