Last month, Jamaican security forces raided Tivoli Garden slum, the strong hold of the alleged drug lord after the Jamaican Prime Minister, Bruce Golding accepted Coke’s extradition to the United States.

Four days of violence ensued the police raids with dozens of dead gang members, civilians and security officials and hundreds of injured. Buildings were set alight including police stations and vehicles destroyed.

The 42-year-old Dudus whose extradition is wanted by the United States for a string of offences including supplying cocaine, marijuana and arms to the U.S. was finally caught in the outskirts of Kingston allegedly while going to the US embassy to surrender.

The war lord was captured with no violence according to officials and was accompanied by Reverend Al Miller, a preacher who had earlier this month organized the surrender of Dudus’ brother.

It was reported that Dudus was especially afraid of going into a Jamaican prison in case he had the same fate of his father who died in a mysterious fire in a Jamaican prison which was alleged to be an assassination.

Reverend Al Miller said “the police searched the vehicle that I was in and they recognized him and held him.”

The preacher also said that Coke had contacted him and asked for his help in his surrender to the U.S. embassy as he did not trust the Jamaican police.

It has been reported that the police station where Coke is being held has been heavily guarded by security forces.

Rev Miller added “he also wanted to waive his right to an extradition hearing so he could go to the US for a trial.”

Coke, the leader of the country’s biggest, strongest and most powerful gang, “the Shower Posse” had received wide support from civilians in the slums as he was known to help the poor with medical, food and social needs.

Jamaican Prime Minister, Bruce Golding had been criticized widely for accepting the extodition of Coke who was a strong supporter of the ruling Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).

It has even been alleged that Dudus had ties to the Party and to the Prime Minister.

The Jamaican government had even offered a reward for whoever gives information which leads to the arrest of Coke, a reported $60,000.
