Jada Pinkett Smith is growing hair again
Her bald head was the trigger for one of the biggest shock moments in Oscars history. Now, Will Smith's wife Jada Pinkett Smith has announced that her hair is growing back.
The fact that Jada Pinkett Smith lost her hair due to an autoimmune disease was used by Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars as an occasion for a nasty joke to get one over on his opponent Will Smith. He acknowledged the saying with a slap on the stage of the award ceremony. Soon Rock won’t be able to make such tacky jokes because Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair growth is back.

So she is happy that her hair is coming back. Hollywood star Will Smith’s wife shared two selfies on her Instagram page, showing her formerly bald and now with short bleached hair. The actress has been suffering from alopecia areata, circular hair loss, for years.
She captioned her Instagram post, “This hair here is acting like it’s trying to come back.” As proof of her new hair growth, she posted two pictures. The thing with the shaved bald head is from the past, she emphasized. The second picture, which shows her with short, strong hair, is the present. The actress and presenter was also hopeful: “I still have a few problem areas, but we’ll see.”

Pinkett Smith first opened up about her hair loss on an episode of her talk show Red Table Talk in 2018: “A lot of people have asked why I wear turbans. Well, I haven’t talked about it. It’s not easy to talk about, but I will talk about it.”
Then she said, “One day I was in the shower and I had a handful of hair in my hands and I was like, ‘Oh my God, am I going to be bald soon?'” It was one of those moments in her life, “where I was literally shaking with fear”. Because of the circular hair loss, she always shaves a bald head.
