Italian singer and songwriter Lucio Dalla passed away. He died of a heart attack in Switzerland.
Rome / NationalTurk – Italian singer songwriter Lucio Dalla died in a fatal heart attack which struck him in Switzerland on the eve of his latest tour. Days ago of his 69th birthday, news of Lucio Dalla’s sudden passing saddened and pulled on heartstrings throughout the Italian music industry.
On Twitter, Italian pop star Jovanotti said “no, please, no… I can’t believe it… I simply can’t believe it.”

Lucio Dalla began to play the clarinet at an early age. He is the composer of Caruso, which has been covered by numerous international artists. Dalla’s first hit was “4 Marzo 1943”, which garnered some success at the Sanremo Festival. Dalla made a decisive move later in his career, starting a collaboration with the Bolognese poet Roberto Roversi. Dalla decided to write the lyrics of his next albums himself after the collabration with Roversi ended. He was invited for duetting on Pavarotti and friends, singing his own hit “Caruso” with Luciano Pavarotti.
