Spy Drone crisis between US and Iran entered another chapter as Iranian authorities have ignored the official U.S. request for the return of an American spy drone downed and captured by Iran army.

Tehran  / NationalTurk – Iran Defense Minister Gen. Ahmad Vahidi announced the United States should apologize for invading Iranian air space instead of asking for the return of the unmanned aircraft used for spying, after US reguested the return of spy drone Iran captured.

Tehran authorities last week identified the model of the drone as the RQ-170 Sentinel and announced it was captured over the country’s east and vital intel is obtained from the intact remains of the US spy drone.

President Barack Obama stated Monday the U.S. requested the top-secret aircraft back and has delivered a formal request for the return of the surveillance drone, though it isn’t hopeful that Iran will comply as the aircraft is used for spying purposes.

Iran US War of Spy Drones

Iran announced the number of the hi-tech drones that the US has lost since 2007 in combat or while spying over other world countries reached 90 with the last one hacked by Iranian armed forces and brought down in the Eastern parts of the country almost intact 10 days ago, in an attempt to gain the upper hand in the spy drone battle. The embarrassing loss of the CIA drone has focused attention on the use of an air base in western Afghanistan over the last several years to launch aerial surveillance missions against suspected nuclear facilities and other targets in neighboring Iran.
