Inter are better without Ibrahimovic say’s Mourinho

ITALY SOCCERInter Milan coach Jose Mourinho believes his side are stronger and better without Ibrahimovic.

‘The special one’ admitted that he thinks there has been a large improvement in the way his side has played compared to last season before Ibrahimovic signed with European giants Barcelona.

Mourinho’s remarks came during an interview with Inter.it, where the charismatic former Chelsea manager expressed himself to a question that popped up constantly in last years Seria A campaign where Inter Milan won by a large margin.

When he was prompted with the question of “Do you think Inter Milan are better without Ibrahimovic?”

Mourinho’s reply was “the reality is that the side plays better [without Ibrahimovic], the team is now playing better playing football than it was last year.”

Inter Milan and Coach Jose Mourinho was criticised by the Italian media for being too reliant on the Swedish superstar last season, with some sports writers saying Mourinho’s side employed nothing other than a ‘pass it to Ibrahimovic’ strategy.

The former Chelsea coach went on to praise the way the club reacted to the sale of their star player, but admitted there were some initial concerns about how they would handle the loss of their talisman.

“It is normal that a team asks questions and has doubts, and that’s what happened when Inter decided to sell Ibrahimovic,” he said. “Look at what we did after his departure. What the club did, the way in which the institution has managed the sale of Ibra economically and taken out what it wanted to spend on new players.”
