Dutch daily De Telegraaf says Guus Hiddink will “almost certainly” coach Ivory Coast at the World Cup.
Hiddink’s contract as Russia coach expires in June, and the Dutchman has already agreed to a two-year deal to lead Turkey through August 2012 with an option for two additional years.
Vahid Halilhodzic was fired as coach last week after Ivory Coast failed to reach the semifinals at the African Cup of Nations earlier this year.
Ivorian Football Federation president Jacques Anouma said Saturday that a new coach will soon be announced for the June 11-July 11 World Cup in South Africa.

Dutch coach Guus Hiddink has accepted to take Turkey helm until August 2012 after announcing he won’t extend his contract with Football Union of Russia which was due to expire on 30 June.
Turkish Football Federation (TFF) President Mahmut Özgener and TFF Vice-President Lutfi Arıboğan flew to Amsterdam to finalize the negotiations with Hiddink. 63-year-old experienced coach agreed to a two-year contract with an option for further two years.
