Harry and Meghan share romantic moment in front of audience
During this performance, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan not only celebrated the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games, but above all their love. The couple celebrated them on the open stage.
Romance was not neglected when Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan appeared at the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games in The Hague. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially opened the sporting event for disabled soldiers on Saturday. The royals came hand in hand to the ceremony in the evening.
At the opening event, Duchess Meghan wore a white, off-the-shoulder top combined with dark high-waist trousers – and caused a stir with this outfit. Her husband appeared in a gray suit and white shirt. Meghan finally spoke on stage first. She thanked the participating soldiers and greeted the Ukrainian team. She then introduced Prince Harry as her “incredible husband” and “the father of our little ones, Archie and Lili.”
Then the romantic moment, which led to plenty of applause from the audience present: the Duke and Duchess kissed on stage. Then Harry, the founder of the Invictus Games, began his speech. In it, the Royal acknowledged, among other things, the members of the Ukraine team for their “bravery in deciding to come and be here tonight”.
The Sussexes had performed before the opening ceremony in The Hague, The Netherlands. They attended a reception hosted by the host team and also attended the first medal decider of the Invictus Games, an auto obstacle course, on Saturday morning.
Harry and Meghan’s love story linked to Invictus
The games continue until next Friday. Prince Harry will be present at several competitions. It was only announced a few days ago that Duchess Meghan was accompanying him to the Netherlands. The Duke of Sussex, who was twice on combat duty in Afghanistan, founded the Invictus Games in 2014. His visit to the Warrior Games in the USA in 2013 is said to have inspired him to create an international sporting event especially for injured soldiers to call. He acts as patron of the event.
The Invictus Games hold special meaning for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. At the third edition in 2017 in Toronto, Canada, Prince Harry caused a surprise: he had his first official appearance with his future wife Meghan. The 2018 Games then took place in Sydney. Both Prince Harry and Meghan were there again.
