Halloween: This is how Heidi Klum transformed herself into an alien

This year, Heidi Klum surprised her fans again with a mysterious Halloween costume - and gave insights into the transformation.

Year after year, the mystery surrounding her Halloween costume causes a huge stir – so it was logical that “Germany’s Next Top Model” chief judge Heidi Klum gave clues again this time shortly before her big party in New York.

On her Instagram channel and in a livestream on Amazon, she gave glimpses of the elaborate transformation into the famous alien film character E.T. before the big performance. Here you can see Heidi Klum’s final costume.

Fans were able to watch since 12 noon (local time) as make-up artists transformed the model: They modeled a brown, rubbery mask on her face layer by layer. Klum also shared several photos and videos of costume parts on her Instagram account, further fueling speculation about her costume. One photo showed a kind of brown shell, another a huge brown thumb.

Despite hours of preparation, Klum was visibly happy about the transformation in the livestream. “I stopped eating three or four hours ago so I didn’t have to go to the toilet,” said the model. The costume should be ready by 10 p.m. – just in time for the red carpet.

“Heidi Halloween is starting to take shape,” Klum wrote on September 3rd in a first Instagram post with a preview of a costume piece that looked like a kind of shell made of white modeling clay. According to her own statement, she had been planning the costume for a year and invested countless hours in the elaborate preparations.

Shortly before the party, fans on social media speculated wildly about which costume Klum might have chosen. The ideas ranged from “Ninja Turtle” or “Super Mario” turtle “Bowser” to a tree from the Disney film “Pocahontas”, a Franzbrötchen, and a kebab skewer. But some of the fans were right and guessed “E.T.”

An Instagram post from Amazon Live then gave further clues: “Had to take off her long nails,” it says, as well as the cryptic suggestion that “it sings” and “lives.” In addition, the costume is the “most uncomfortable” she has ever worn – a high expectation considering her unusual costumes of recent years.
