Haaland gives BVB colleagues a luxury gift

The Norwegian is moving from Borussia Dortmund to Manchester City this summer. And to say goodbye, he surprised fellow players and BVB employees with a special gift.

Erling Haaland’s transfer to Premier League club Manchester City is complete (read more here). The 21-year-old signed a contract with the Guardiola club until 2026, and his move will bring BVB a transfer fee of 75 million euros (and the deal is really that expensive). In the meantime, Haaland has said goodbye to BVB. It also became clear how important this club is to him.

As the “Bild” reports, the Norwegian gave each player a watch from the luxury brand Rolex with a personal engraving as a farewell gift. Cost point: 13,000 to 15,000 euros. And with a total of 33 colleagues, that really costs money. In addition, other employees such as physiotherapists, cooks and supervisors are said to have received an Omega watch. The corresponding model costs between 5,000 and 7,000 euros.

The “Bild” assumes a total gift value of almost half a million euros.

The watches are said to have been delivered by two luxury limousines from the Netherlands. And the boxes in which the watches were handed over to the players and staff were printed with Haaland’s shirt number nine, his typical jubilant pose and a photo of him holding the DFB Cup in his hands.
