The 63-year-old who has coached many clubs and national teams including Real Madrid, the Dutch national side and the South Korean national side has signed a 2 year contract with a further optional 2 years.
Hiddink’s coaching staff will have some familiar faces with former Turkish skipper Oğuz Çetin who has worked with former coach Fatih Terim. Hiddink has also specified a fellow Dutch assistant but the name has not been specified yet. The goal keeper coach will be the experienced former Turkish international goalkeeper Engin İpekoğlu.
Hiddink being appointed as the new Turkish national side boss has ended the controversy over who will be appointed as Hiddink’s name was constantly being heard in the Turkish media but some nationalists thought that it should be a Turk who manages the National side.
