Galatasaray Sell Arda Turan to Atletico Madrid for $18.6 Million

Galatasaray Istanbul was expecting getting Forlan and even Reyes from Atletico Madrid, instead they let their team captain Arda Turan leave the nest for the spanish side.

Galatasaray, one of the Turkey’s top 3 league soccer, have reached an agreement with Spain’s Atletico Madrid over the transfer of Turkey national player Arda Turan for 12 Million euros and 1 million euros bonus fee, if Atletico Madrid finishes La Liga as a Champions League participant. The bonus payment will be 500000 Euros, if Atletico Madrid earns a Europe League spot in La Liga.

Galatasaray will also have priority in the possible transfer of 24 years old Arda Turan to a Turkish soccer club in the future, the club’s merchandising leg informed in a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange.

Arda Turan will complete the move after Turkey’s friendly against Estonia on Wednesday and then will undergo his medical on Friday morning and will be presented on Tuesday, August 16 as a new Atletico Madrid player in Vicente Calderon.
