Further allegations against Gérard Depardieu

New allegations against French actor Gérard Depardieu: According to a media report, he is said to have harassed an assistant during filming in March 2014. On January 9th, the woman filed a lawsuit against the 75-year-old, several media outlets reported, citing the complaint.

The incidents occurred during the filming of the film “Le Magicien et les Siamois”. The woman, who wished to remain anonymous, was 24 years old at the time and worked as an assistant, reported the newspaper Le Courrier de l’Ouest. She complained of touching her intimate area and making obscene statements.

According to the newspaper, Depardieu’s lawyer pointed out that his client denies sexual harassment, as in the other ongoing court cases.

More allegations

The complaint against Depardieu was filed for “sexual assault on a vulnerable person by a person who abuses the authority of his position.” Depardieu has been under investigation since 2020 because of the rape allegation.

Another lawsuit against him for sexual abuse has been pending since mid-September. The incident is said to have occurred in 2007. Several women accuse the well-known actor, who has appeared in over 200 films, of, among other things, sexual violence.

Depardieu completely denies the allegations. In a letter published in the newspaper “Le Figaro” at the beginning of October, he describes himself as the victim of a “media lynching.” In a documentary broadcast in early December about his trip to North Korea in 2018, Depardieu repeatedly made misogynistic and vulgar comments, for which he received sharp criticism.
