At the same time, Labor ministers of G20 countries are holding a two days meeting in Paris to discuss social protection mechanisms and the right to employment. Further 16,000 job posts are planned to be cut by the 2011-2012 academic year as one of two pensioners were not replaced.

A total of 50,000 posts have been cut since 2007 and a further 14,000 are planned to be cutted in 2012. Union labors protest the encumbrance on teachers and how the French government will guarantee the education system’s quality with fewer teachers and more students.
