Former Prime Minister Mesut Yilmaz died

Mesut Yılmaz, one of the former prime ministers, died in the hospital where he was treated in Istanbul.

Mesut Yılmaz passed away at the age of 73. Yılmaz passed away today in a private hospital where he was treated in Şişli.

Mesut Yılmaz has been under treatment for a while.

Florence Nightingale Hospital Chief Physician Exp. Dr. Özgür Şamilgil stated the following in his written statement:

“As we all know, the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Ahmet Mesut Yilmaz, a former prime minister, about 2 years, gained the lung cancer and succumbed As of today, the struggle continues because of growing medical conditions and after us mercy. We wish patience to their grieving families and lovers, the head of the Turkish nation get it right. ”

Biography – Mesut Yılmaz

Ahmet Mesut Yılmaz was born on November 6, 1947 in Istanbul. In 1971, he graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Political Sciences, Department of Economics and Finance. He did his master’s degree at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, University of Cologne, Germany. He worked as a manager in the private sector, worked in the industrial sector.

Yılmaz became a founding member of the Motherland Party in 1983 and became the Vice President of the European Democracy Union. Two works of Yılmaz have been published in German and English.

Mesut Yılmaz is a Rize deputy in the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st terms. He served as the minister of state and minister of culture and tourism in the 45th government, as the minister of foreign affairs in the 46th and 47th governments, as the prime minister in the 48th, 53rd and 55th governments, and as the state minister and deputy prime minister in the 57th government.

Yılmaz served as the Chairman of the Motherland Party between 1991 and 2002.

Yilmaz, who is married and has two children, one of whom died in 2017, had brain surgery on May 5.
