Fiorentina Attempt For Lukaku From Chelsea

Italian club Fiorentina are interested in the loan signing of youngster Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian striker had a disappointing first season with Chelsea and could be tempted to move to Italy in search of first-team opportunities.

Chelsea youngster Romelu Lukaku is wanted by Serie A outfit Fiorentina. The Italians are not looking to purchase Lukaku outright, who has only featured on rare occasions for the Champions League holders, but rather on a loan basis only.

Lukaku has only featured eight times for Chelsea since joining them last August and seven of those appearances were as sub and the way that Roman Abramovich is spending money there is no guarantee that the 19 year old will see any significant increase in playing time.

That said, it is unlikely that any decision will be made until a new manager has been installed, there is a possibility that Lukaku would feature more under a new manager and while the Chelsea board tend to do their own buying and selling, there would be nothing to gain in loaning out a youngster with immense potential until it has been determined whether he will have a role to play next season.

In the event that the Belgium international is not considered to be a regular then it makes sense to loan him out, far better he gets playing experience than to fester on the sidelines.
