As the 2010 FIFA warns of fake ticket for World Cup 2010 held in South Africa nears, FIFA have announced a stern stance in combating fake tickets.
FIFA spokesman Wolfgang Eichler has said “FIFA have gone out of their way to make it as easy as possible to obtain legitimate tickets for the World Cup 2010 in South Africa. However FIFA will not be made responsible for any purchasing of Fake or illegitimate tickets,”
“We warn all football fans to be careful when purchasing their tickets as fake ticket holders will not be able to enter the stadium and will also be charged with fraud under the fake documents law in South Africa,”
“Tickets can be purchased via FIFA’s official website or the designated PTO (Participating Tour Operators) in the country of residence of the purchaser.”
FIFA have also warned of lottery E-mail’s that claim they have FIFA World Cup Tickets. “We strongly recommend football fans to stay away from these types of E-mails as there is no way of knowing if the tickets are legitimate or not.”
The official Participating Tour Operator for the FIFA 2010 World Cup in South Africa in Turkey and territory is World Travel Service (WTS).
