Nigerian striker, Emmanuel Emenike has been freed by a Turkish court after he was arrested with several other persons including Fernebache’s president, Aziz Yildrim on match-fixing probe scandal in Turkey.
According to reports, the charges levied against him have been dropped as the court found no evidence.”I cannot make any categorical statement with regards an ongoing investigation, I’ll appreciate it if everyone respects that,” Emenike told the media.

“It’s been tough the last couple of days both mentally and physically. “I want to rest then return to football with my team-mates as soon as possible,” he said. The Super Eagle, Emenike joined Fenerbache at the close of last season after an impressive performance with Karabukspor where he netted 14 league goals for a fee of 9 Million Euro.

The accusations regarding Emenike indicated, that he didn’t play against Fenerbahce in a championship decisive game last season willingly or forcibly.
The new Fenerbahce signing Emenike returned along with teammate Sezer Ozturk, also one of the suspected footballer in the match-fixing probe, to Fenerbahce’s summer camp in Bolu, Turkey.
