Several people have been shot outside the Empire State Building in Manhattan including the gunman.
American police say three or four civilians have reportedly been wounded in the Friday morning shooting outside of Empire State Building in New York and that the gunman is dead.
A fire department spokesman says it received a call about the shooting today just after at 9 am and that emergency units were on the scene within couple minutes. The shooting occurred at 34th Street and Fifth Avenue.
A police source has told 2 people had died and others had suffered injuries after shots rang out by the New York monument. It is believed at 3 or 4 people were shot before the NYPD swooped on the scene and shot the gunman dead.
Traffic was diverted around the Empire State Building as investigators responded to the scene.
The spokesman had no information about how many people were wounded or their conditions.
