Electronics retailer Conrad closes almost all branches
Conrad Electronic wants to close almost all of its stores nationwide. The reason: the corona pandemic has shown that customers are increasingly shopping online, they say.
The IT specialist dealer Conrad Electronic is closing almost all of its branches nationwide. Only the store in Wernberg-Köblitz, Bavaria, will continue to operate, the company said. All other locations are scheduled to close later this year.
“The trend that private customers in particular meet their needs less in stationary retail and instead shop more online has accelerated significantly over the past two years due to Corona,” is the reasoning.
In the future, the group intends to focus more on its business with corporate customers. In Hürth, North Rhine-Westphalia, Conrad opened its first B2B branch in 2020. It is said that other locations for such shops are now being sought.
