He almost always gets the fewest points from the jury, but he gets the most calls from the audience. And so Bastian Bielendorfer always makes it to the next round. What does Ekaterina Leonova have to do with it?
Seven points for his Cha Cha Cha, eight for the Quickstep, nine for the Charleston. Only in a single “Let’s Dance” show did Bastian Bielendorfer not finish in last place in terms of points. That was in episode six. The comedian got 17 points for his tango on “Mission: Impossible” by Lalo Schifrin. Only Mathias Mester and Caroline Bosbach danced worse back then. The latter then had to leave the show.
The 37-year-old, on the other hand, is always lucky, making progress lap after lap – and that is only thanks to the calls from the spectators. Most recently, musician Mike Singer also lost to the comedian. But why is he so popular with audiences?

“Bastian Bielendorfer is just funny. He can’t dance, but it’s funny,” commented a user on Twitter, for example. “Otherwise I’m more of a team ‘It’s about dancing’, but: Bastian Bielendorfer may please get very far on this show,” said another user.
Another, on the other hand, wrote: “I find Bastian Bielendorfer super likeable, but he’s a thousand times better than a cabaret artist. According to the motto: ‘Schuster stay with your last!'” So maybe the calls don’t apply to Bastian Bielendorfer, but to his professional dancer?
Ekaterina Leonova has already won three times
The Gelsenkirchener dances with Ekaterina Leonova. The native Russian is back on the RTL dance floor after a two-year break. In the 13th and 14th season, the 34-year-old was not allowed to dance. “We would also like to enable new professionals to participate in ‘Let’s Dance’ this year,” RTL explained the decision at the time.
However, some fans suspected that Ekat would no longer be allowed to compete as a professional dancer because she won the show three times in a row. In 2017 she won with Gil Ofarim, in 2018 with Ingolf Lück and in 2019 with Pascal Hens. In terms of points, a different celebrity was always at the top of the podium in the individual seasons: Vanessa Mai, Ella Endlich and Judith Williams.
