Earthquake in Turkey – Video
Scientists say that there is no link between the latest earthquakes that are occurring around the world.
Experts are saying that there is nothing unusual with the earthquakes that are occurring around the world. The earthquake in Turkey was the latest in a spate of earthquakes which are occurring around the world with devastation in Haiti last month and very recently in Chile and Taiwan.
However many people are in fear especially those who are living in buildings along the world’s fault lines as mass casualties are being seen.
Seismologists are saying that the quakes are most probably a coincidence but it is known that powerful earthquakes can raise the risk of triggering other earthquakes.

“I can definitely tell you that the world is not coming to an end.” said Bob Holdsworth, an expert in tectonics at Durham University.
Bernard Doft, a seismologist for the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute said, “These events are too far apart to be of direct influence to each other,”.
He carried on to explain that thought the Haitian quake had occurred in a fault line which had not been active for over 250 years, the earthquake in Turkey and Chile were expected and “It was by accident that it happened at approximately the same time,”
What is making the experts growingly concerned is that weak and poorly constructed buildings are still being erected in areas which are known for earthquakes.
The earthquake in Turkey which occurred in the early hours of Monday was at 6.0 magnitude and had caused over 50 deaths with dozens of buildings being demolished.
