Earthquake in the Black Sea! It was also felt in Istanbul.

An earthquake occurred in the Black Sea at 20:38 Turkish time.

The magnitude of the earthquake was announced as 4.5 by Kandilli Observatory, AFAD 4.4 and the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) as 4.8.

While the earthquake was felt in Istanbul and several cities, Earth scientist Prof. Dr. Naci Görür evaluated the earthquake with his sharing.

On the other hand, the earthquake was 37.72 according to AFAD, 12.9 according to Kandilli Observatory and 5 kilometers according to EMSC.

While the earthquake was felt in Zonguldak, as well as in Istanbul, Kocaeli, Sakarya, Bartın, Bolu and Düzce, it was announced in the statement made by AFAD that the developments were followed and there were no negative reports.

Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum, in his statement on the earthquake, said, “I convey my best wishes to our citizens for the 4.4-magnitude earthquake that occurred off the Black Sea Ereğli. We follow the process closely with our teams. Get well soon to our country,” he said.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca shared about the earthquake, “At 20.38, an earthquake of 4.4 magnitude occurred in Zonguldak Ereğli. As of now, no unfortunate results have been encountered in our communication or in our field work. Even the smallest earthquake felt is a major concern. Congratulations to all of us,” he said.

Regarding the earthquake, Istanbul Governor Ali Yerlikaya made a statement on his Twitter account. Yerlikaya said, “According to AFAD data based in Black Sea Zonguldak Ereğli, the earthquake with a magnitude of 4.4 was also felt in our Istanbul. There is no negative situation in our city and districts. May Allah protect our country and our nation from all kinds of disasters,” he said.

After the earthquake, a written statement was made by the Bartın Governorship. The statement said, “As a result of the 4.4-magnitude earthquake that occurred off the Black Sea Ereğli and was also felt in our city, there was no negative situation that was transferred to our units. The subject is followed meticulously. Get well soon to all our compatriots”.
