Dutch side Ajax extends contract with Jan Huntelaar
The top-tier Dutch football side Ajax announced Monday that the club and Klaas Jan Huntelaar reached an agreement to keep the veteran scorer until June 2021.
“I wanted to continue and preferably here at Ajax. I no longer see myself playing in a different shirt. I feel fit, come to the club with pleasure and I am sure I can still contribute on the field,” Huntelaar said on the club’s website.
Huntelaar, 36, has been playing at Ajax since the 2017-2018 season. He played for the club in the period from 2006 to 2008 as well.
The forward made 243 appearances for his team so far, producing 151 goals and 42 assists.
In addition to Ajax, he previously played for several clubs, including Dutch teams like PSV Eindhoven, De Graafschap, AGOVV Apeldoorn, Heerenveen, Spain’s Real Madrid, Italian side Milan and Schalke 04 in Germany.
