Deron Williams suited up for Besiktas yesterday as they faced off against a unimportant Belgium team in an important EuroCup qualifier and got his first win.

In Deron Williams’ first meaningful game with the Turkish club, Besiktas got the eight-point victory over Belgium side and their new superstar chipped in 15 points and 9 assists. However, Deron Williams was described as looking “very out of shape”. Besiktas fans have not flocked the BJK Arena as usual, but it was a different and more ambitous atmosphere than back in the USA for a star like Deron Williams. Some fans say if this is what a’very out of shape’ Deron is able to show then our opponents should really fear us.

It was not a terribly impressive debut from a very out of shape looking Deron Williams in EuroCup qualifiers. He scored 15 points, dished 9 assist on a 3/15 FG %. Besiktas Istanbul won by 8. 78-70.
