Deaths in gas explosion in apartment building near Moscow

Gas explosions keep happening in Russia, including on Monday in a residential building near Moscow. Several people died and others were injured.

Six people died in a gas explosion in a residential building near Moscow. Another 20 residents were injured in the accident in the five-story building in the town of Stupino, south of the Russian capital, the civil defense said. Six of them would be treated in hospitals.

Gas explosions occur again and again in Russia – for example because safety precautions are not observed. In some places, such accidents also occur when people want to heat their homes using gas stoves.
