Cuba congratulates Recep Tayyip Erdogan on his re-election as president
The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, congratulated Recep Tayyip Erdogan this Sunday, on the occasion of his re-election as Head of State of Türkiye.
Through his official Twitter account, the president wished him “success in his duties” and reiterated his desire to “continue promoting the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.”
For his part, the member of the Political Bureau of the CCPCC and Minister of Foreign Relations, Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, also celebrated Erdogan’s victory.
On Twitter, the Cuban foreign minister stated: “We convey the warmest congratulations to the Turkish people after the election day this Sunday and to President @RTErdogan for his re-election as Head of State. We ratify the will of #Cuba to strengthen the ties of friendship and cooperation with #Türkiye”.
According to data from Anadolu agency, the current Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has won the second round of Turkey’s presidential elections this Sunday, after a close contest against opposition candidate Kemal Kilicdaroglu.
With 99.02% of the votes counted, the current president, candidate of the Popular Alliance, obtains 52.08% of the votes compared to 47.92% for Kilicdaroglu, who is running for the Nation Alliance, collects the agency. The final results will be announced by the supreme electoral body in a subsequent message.
