Croatia lifts almost all corona measures

More and more travel restrictions are being lifted in Europe. Entering Croatia will also be easier. EU citizens who want to visit the country no longer need proof of vaccination or testing.

The EU and holiday country Croatia lifts almost all corona restrictions. EU citizens can come into the country from next Saturday (April 9) without the previously required proof of vaccination, recovery or test, said Interior Minister Davor Bozinovic. Previously, EU citizens were advised to register.

Further measures are omitted

The mask requirement due to Corona is also largely eliminated in Croatia. In the future, mouth and nose will only have to be covered in healthcare facilities and in old people’s and nursing homes.

The curfew for restaurants and nightclubs, which is currently set at midnight, will also be lifted. In addition, the current restrictions on the number of participants no longer apply to events of all kinds in Croatia. “Starting tomorrow (Saturday 12:00 a.m.) you can (…) party until dawn,” said Bozinovic.

The Corona situation in Croatia

“We have had a stable situation for a month, in which the number of hospital admissions is not increasing,” said infectiologist Alemka Markotic, who is a member of the crisis team in Croatia. The number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days was 433 on Wednesday. 55 percent of the population in Croatia are vaccinated against Corona with a full dose.
