Qatar-Support-Islamic-State

“Qatar not in any way Terror groups”: The Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Emirates, Khaled al-Attiyah, rejects the accusation that his country was financing the IS-terrorist militia.

Qatar has a decisive action against the Islamist militia “Islamic State” demanded and rejected claims it support fundamentalists. “Qatar not in any way extremist groups,” wrote the Foreign Minister of the Gulf Emirates, Khaled al-Attiyah, “Handelsblatt” on Monday. “We finance neither the IS nor other extremist groups.”

The emirate reject the views of these extremists, their violent methods and their goals. “A firm and collective action, we must put an end to the sectarian violence in Iraq and Syria,” was the appeal of the politician.

In the media and by politicians of suspicion had been raised repeatedly, Qatar could support the IS financially. In Syria, Qatar maintains particularly to the militia Nusra Front good relations, the Syrian branch of al-Qaeda. Last Qatar had successfully negotiated with the Nusra Front for the release of an American journalist. Whether Qatar thereby paid a ransom to the Nusra front, is unknown. The militia is led by the United States as a terrorist group.

Recently, Qatar had been able to convey in the release of European hostages in Yemen. This had been arrested by the local al-Qaida offshoot. In addition, Qatar is also often cited as a supporter of the radical Palestinian group Hamas. If Israelis and Palestinians negotiate peace, Qatar is considered an indispensable intermediary between the two sides. Whether this money flows from Qatar to Hamas, is unclear.

Qatar Connections to Islamist Terror: Qatari Foreign Minister: “Reasons for IS success are obvious”

“The reasons for the success of IS are obvious,” Attiyah said. The group is the product of sectarian divisions and violence in Syria and Iraq. This has created a climate that happen in the foreign militants, many from outside the region, unhindered had the borders and the host of homemade terrorists could have been larger.

A simple solution to the problems in the region does not exist. However, it is imperative to prevent the financial flows in support of extremists. The murder of American journalist James Foley by the IS called the Qatari politicians “barbaric”. She was just like the murder of over 70 people in a Sunni mosque in Diyala a “heinous crime”.

“Remote support any of the IS, we ask the government of Iraq to ensure the protection and safety of its citizens,” Attiyah wrote. Qatar’s interest is a long-term stabilization of the Middle East. He supported the initiatives and efforts of Secretary of State John Kerry, to achieve a peace agreement.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel Qatar asked to do more to a cease-fire between Israel and the radical Islamic Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
