Chris Rock’s brother: ‘The apology wasn’t real’

Everyone is still talking about the slap Will Smith gave Chris Rock at the Oscars. The comedian’s brother is now also commenting on the scandal.
This Oscar chapter is far from over. Will Smith’s performance at this year’s awards ceremony will probably go down in history. Because Chris Rock made fun of his wife Jada Pinkett Smith on stage, he came on stage and gave the comedian a slap in the face.
“No, I do not accept them”
The tremors that followed this act of violence are far from over. Will Smith is severely condemned for his behavior; many are demanding that he must return the golden boy he won that evening. The public apology he posted to Instagram shortly thereafter doesn’t really seem to polish his tarnished image. Nothing has been forgotten for Chris Rock’s brother Kenny Rock with Smith’s statement either.
“No, I don’t accept it because I don’t think it was real,” Rock told the Los Angeles Times newspaper. “I think his press secretary and the people who work under him probably advised him to do it.”
The actor wants Smith’s behavior to have consequences. Not only does he want his Oscar stripped for his performance in King Richard, he wants the Academy to initiate disciplinary proceedings and ban him from future awards.
Did Chris Rock not know about Smith’s illness?
“It devastates me to see a loved one being attacked over and over again and there’s nothing you can do about it,” said the 42-year-old. “My brother wasn’t a threat to him and he had no respect for him at that moment. He humiliated him in front of millions of people.”
He also assumes that his brother had no idea what he was referring to with his joke. The 57-year-old opened up about Jada Pinkett Smith’s hairstyle at the Oscars. The actress has alopecia, which causes her hair to fall out; she is now bald. “The joke was funny. He was incredibly funny, but I know if he had known she had alopecia – he wouldn’t have made that joke.”
